Genevieve Gehrlein Stock

Genevieve Gehrlein Stock, 93, of 501 Washington St., St. Marys, died on Friday evening, June 15, 2012 at the Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
She was born May 5, 1919 in Erie, daughter of the late George and Veronica Faivre Gehrlein. On March 8, 1943 in St. Agatha’s Church in Meadville, she married William R. Stock, who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1998.
She had been a resident of the area since 1959. She was a graduate of Meadville High School and Allegheny College.
Mrs. Stock was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the American Association of University Women and the Christian Family Movement. She taught CCD for many years and volunteered at the Elk Haven Nursing Home, Meals-on-Wheels and Sacred Heart Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne (Max) Betts of Kylertown, and Mary Stock of Schenectady, N.Y.; five sons, William R. (Gayle) Stock Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gregory L. (Karen) Stock of Jeannette, Dr. Roger D. Stock of Pittsburgh, Carl J. (Vicki) Stock of Greensboro, N.C., and Dr. Paul A. (Marlene) Stock of Nolanville, Texas; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Genevieve Gehrlein Stock will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, OSB, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, June 19, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m.
