Genevieve M. Weichman

Genevieve M. Weichman, 95, of 444 W. Mill St., St. Marys, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Pinecrest Manor following a brief illness.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1919, a daughter of the late Michael and Theresa Gschwendtner Rigard.
On Jan. 29, 1938 in St. Marys Church, she married Charles H. Weichman, who preceded her in death on July 11, 1987.
Gen was a graduate of SMAHS, class of 1936 and a member of St. Mary's Church. She retired from Stackpole after more than 30 years of service. She had been a member of the Moose and the CYMA. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and trips to Salamanca, N.Y.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Weichman, St. Marys, David (Dorothy) Weichman, St. Marys, Richard (Elaine) Weichman, DuBois; two daughters, Ann Wehler and Jean (David) Becquet, both of St. Marys; and by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, Leo "Pickles" Rigard of St. Marys, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Romaine, Jerome, Francis, Vincent and Edward Rigard; two sisters, Iona Laird and Irene Laird; a sister, Kathleen, in infancy; and by a son-in-law James Wehler.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Genevieve M. Weichman will be celebrated on Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Church, Church St., St. Marys with Fr. Alfred Patterson, OSB, officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5 p.m until 8 p.m.
