George "Butch" Hansen Sr.

George "Butch" Hansen Sr., 62, of Shawmut Road, Brockport, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 23, 1950, in Sharon, Conn., son of the late Fredrick and Dorothy Amelia Ostrander Hansen. On Dec. 18, 1976, he married Patricia Judge, who survives.
George was Catholic by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army and Vietnam. He was retired as a tool and die maker at OSRAM-Sylvania in St. Marys. He loved trains, both models and the real thing. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, four-wheeler riding, hunting and coin collecting. But more than anything else, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Patricia of Brockport, he is survived by a son, George Hansen Jr. and fiancee Heather Crum of Ridgway; a daughter, Kathleen Perkins of Torrington, Conn.; a brother, Fred Hansen of Waterbury, Conn.; three sisters: Mary (Jack) Angel of Waterbury, Conn., Nancy (Larry) Terni of Surprise, Ariz., and Karen (Richard) Pratt of Waterbury, Conn.; a granddaughter, Alison Paige Hansen; two grandsons, Hayden George Hansen and Bryce Kole Hansen; many nieces and nephews; and Brian Lemmon, who was like a son to George Sr. and a brother to George Jr.
Funeral services for George "Butch" Hansen Sr. will be held today, Monday, July 9, at 4 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc., 1033 4th Ave., Brockway, with the Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Full military services will be accorded by the Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
Visitation will be held today, Monday, July 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
