George F. Hutton

George F. Hutton, 76, of Bennetts Valley, Byrnedale, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Christ the King Manor of DuBois.
He was born Dec. 15, 1936 in Mahaffey, son of the late Harold and Martha (Reasinger) Hutton.
In 1961, he married to Joan (Kuchy) Hutton, who survives.
George was raised in Benezette and lived the rest of his life in Byrnedale. 
He was a graduate of Benezette School, Class of 1953. He worked with PennDOT for 11 years, was owner of the Log Cabin Inn for 15 years, worked construction until 2000 and also for Lyn-Clare flower shop for several years.
He was an easygoing guy who enjoyed people and conversation. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Emporium and Coudersport, Bennetts Valley American Legion and Sinnemahoning Sportsmen’s Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Valerie (Udo) Strobel of Brighton, Mich., Zita Longo of Penfield, and Rita (Andy) Shutters of Weedville; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Stan) Cribbs of Brockway, and Phoebe Shadd of Minden, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Harold; a son, Mark; and a grandson, Jacob Hutton.
Funeral services for George F. Hutton will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, with Pastor Ray Shaffer officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.      
Interment will take place at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Weedville.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Jay Township Volunteer Fire Company or the Weedville Wesleyan Church.
