George Lewis Doane

George Lewis Doane, 86, of 96 Doane Dr., Falls Creek, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Highland View Health Care Center in Brockway.
He was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Allens Mills, son of the late Jacob J. and Nettie F. Morris Doane.
He married Caroline Senior, who preceded him in death on March 29, 2009.
He was a member of the Sandy Valley Church of God. He was employed as a machine operator in the decorating Department at Brockway Glass Plant 2.
He enjoyed tinkering in his basement at home.
He is survived by a son, Kevin (Shelley) Doane of Brockway; five daughters, Amy (Ray) David of Brockway, Mona Kutch of St. Marys, Vicky (Mike) Garman of Kittaning, Karen (Ed) Bowdish of Falls Creek and Rita (Allen) Grady of Brockway; a brother, Paul Doane of Falls Creek; a sister, Annabel Senior of DuBois; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great- grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Bill, Miles, Hiram and Leonard Doane.
Funeral services for George Lewis Doane will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 at Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc., 1033 4th Avenue, Brockway. Officiating will be the Rev. David Nagele. Burial will take place in Temple Cemetery at Hazen.
Visitation will be at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to Highland View Health Care Center, 90 Main Street, Brockway, PA 15824; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
