Gerald W. Frey, 73, of 15 Jenks Run Rd., Emporium died unexpectedly at his residence Thursday morning, June 6, 2013.
He was born October 22, 1939 in St. Marys, a son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Herzing Frey.
On May 16, 1964 in Rich Valley Wesleyan Church he married the late Carol Jordan Frey, who preceded him in death in 2005.
Mr. Frey served with the National Guard for over eight years. He retired from Stackpole Carbon, where he worked for over 42 years. He enjoyed his weekly outings with his daughter-in-law to the Cabin Kitchen where he would enjoy his friends' company and to the Aroma Cafe' for open mic night. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Michele, Mrs. Don Barton Jr. of Enola and Tammy Marchini of New York; two sons, Randy and his wife Kim of Emporium and Rick Frey of Emporium; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Petrucelli of Virginia and Virginia Ray of Florida; and a brother, James Frey of Bradford.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Lawrence "Junie" Frey.
Funeral service for Gerald W. Frey will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m. with Jason Claydon, pastor of Rich Valley Wesleyan Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Rich Valley Cemetery, Emporium.
Visitation with video tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Saturday from 5-8 p.m.
