Geraldine M. Wildfire

Geraldine M. Wildfire, 80, of 173 Wehler Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Elk Regional Health Center after an illness of the past year.
She was born May 14, 1931, in DuBois, daughter of the late Charles L. and Josephine Kuharski Baker Dugan.
On April 23, 1955, in the St. Tobias Church in Brockway, she married Jerome C. Wildfire, who preceded her in death on June 1, 1994.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Brockway Area High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She was a retired Registered Nurse, having working at Elk Regional Health Center and Pinecrest Manor from 1955 through 1996. She was a member of the Queen of the World Church, Elk County Cursillo Movement, Nurses Study Club, was formerly active in scouting, was an original organizer of the senior center and the maternity closet, was a member of the Christian Family Movement, a former Eucharistic Minister, and enjoyed nursing and being with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela FinGado and her husband Robert of St. Marys; two sons, Christopher Wildfire and his wife Anne of Pittsburgh and Justin Wildfire and his wife Amber of Erie; and 10 grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Maze; and a brother, Charles C. Dugan. She was the last member of her immediate family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Geraldine M. Wildfire will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
