Gertrude K. “Trudie” Luke

Gertrude K. “Trudie” Luke, 83 of 14 Lafferty Hollow, Bradford, formerly of 1208 South Ave., Bradford, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
She was born on March 24, 1928 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Henry N. and Marguerite N. Cooney Wolfe.
On Jan. 8, 1955 in the St. Bernard Catholic Church, Bradford, she married Kenneth J. Luke, who preceded her in death on March 24, 2008.
She was a 1946 graduate of St. Marys Catholic High School in St. Marys and a 1949 graduate of the St. Vincent School of Nursing, Erie, PA.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse by the Warren State Hospital, the Kane Summit Hospital, the former Bovaird & Seyfang Co., Bradford, the Bradford Hospital 3rd floor medical & surgical wing and the St. Bernard School in Bradford.  After her retirement, she volunteered in the St. Bernard School’s office and library.
She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, Bradford, where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, TOPS #16. She had been a 40-plus year member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Lewis Run, where she was a past president of the Catholic Women’s Club and formerly a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by a son, Jude (fiancé of Francine Bennett) Luke of Bradford; three daughters, Ann (Wesley) Miller of Bradford, Linda (Jack) Kerr of Lewis Run, and Donna Moore of Warren; two brothers, Leo (Patricia) Wolfe and Gerald (Virginia) Wolfe, and a sister, Phyllis (Phillip) Wingard, all of St. Marys; ten grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Callie, Devon, Katie, Jessie, Luke, Ryan, Shea, and Noel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Stephen Wolfe; two brothers-in-law, Donald Luke and William McCormick; and a sister-in-law, Frances McCormick.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude K. “Trudie” Luke will be held Saturday at noon in the St. Bernard Catholic Church, Bradford, with the Rev. Leo Gallina as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bradford.
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc., Bradford, where a prayer service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, prior to Mass. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
