Gladys F. Edinger, 81, of 155 Scotland St., Dagus Mines, and a resident of Elk Haven, died Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 26, 1932 in Dagus Mines, daughter of the late Norman and Sadie Dempsey Edinger. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Dagus Mines and Kersey schools. She worked at the Stackpole Corp. for 40 years and retired after its closure in 1988. She also worked as a beautician in her home for many years.
She was a Presbyterian by faith. In her younger years, she enjoyed keeping her nieces for overnight visits. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed shopping and eating out with friends.
She is survived by a sister, Garnet Blose of Ridgway; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Mancini, Betty Valykeo, Jean Miller and Joan Bish
Funeral services for Gladys F. Edinger will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 23 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Earlyville Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service begins at 1 p.m.
