Gloria A. Wicks

Gloria A. Wicks, 79, of 153 West Theresia Road, St. Marys, died on Thursday, July 14, 2011 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born June 10, 1932 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late John and Edna Frank Gerber. On October 22, 1949 in St. Marys, she married the late Flavius C. Wicks, who preceded her in death on April 18, 1985.
Mrs. Wicks was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She retired from Ames after many years of service. She enjoyed knitting and bird-watching, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by five daughters, Jeanne, Mrs, Gary Meyer of Weedville, Judy, Mrs. Tom Flatley of St. Charles, MO, Jane, Mrs. Randy Pfaff of Greenville, Joyce Wicks of St. Marys, and Joann, Mrs. Wally Struble of St. Marys; four sons, Richard Wicks and his wife Marie of Cary, N.C., Daniel Wicks and his wife Wendy of Phoenix, Ariz., Randal Wicks and his wife Cindy of Williamsburg, Va., and Joe Wicks and his wife Gretchen of St. Marys; and 28 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Wicks, on May 14, 2003; a brother, Richard Gerber, and a sister-in-law, Mary Samick.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria A. Wicks will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19 at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, 325 Center St., St. Marys, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
