Goldie May Rearick

Goldie May Rearick, 87, of Bennetts Valley Highway, Byrnedale, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center after a short illness.
She was born Aug. 5, 1925 in Plum Twp., the daughter of the late James Edmond and Lessie Irene (Harkleroad) Kaufman.
On Aug. 27, 1946, she married William P. C. Rearick, who preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1985.
Mrs. Rearick was born and raised in Plum Twp. and came to Bennetts Valley in 1966. She was a homemaker.
She attended Weedville Wesleyan Church, where she was very active, especially with dinners, Sunday School, and the Wesleyan Women. She was well-known for her baking.
She is survived by two sons, William L. (Jane) Rearick ofStroudsburg and Bernard “Bernie” (Anna E.) Rearick of Byrnedale; two grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilber Blaine Kaufman of Spring Church; and two sisters, Garnett Fox of Michigan and Ethel Gayle Rearick of Elderton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Grace Smeltzer; and six brothers, Everett, Braden, Delbert and Beryl Kaufman and twins in infancy.
Funeral services for Goldie May Rearick will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at the Weedville Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Luther Nelson Jr. officiating. Interment will take place at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield, and on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the Weedville Wesleyan Church or to a favorite charity.
