Grace P. Cassady

Grace P. Cassady, 85, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, and formerly of 131 W. Condot Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 10, 1928 in Ridgway, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Abplanalp Shilk.
On Sept. 5, 1947 in Cornell, N.Y., she married the late Norbert W. Cassady.
Mrs. Cassady was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church. She retired from St. Marys Carbon in 1992 after more than 20 years of service. She had also worked at Keystone Carbon Company. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and fishing.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane, Mrs. Dennis Ferragine, Johnsonburg; two sons, Calvin Cassady and his wife Theresa, St. Marys, and Norbert J. Cassady, St. Marys; five grandchildren, Brandee (Brian) Wallace, Rachel Cassady, Jamie Cassady, Jolene (Sedwick) Sheley, and Felchia Lucian) Pere; three great-grandchildren, Cassady, Mason and Briella; two sisters, Rosemond Wilson, Kane, and Roselyn, Mrs. Gail Gerg, Ridgway; and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Shilk, St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Carl, Warren, Charles, and Melvin Shilk and Lyndie Shilk in childhood; and two sisters, Frances Shilk and Carolyn "Mooney" Shilk; and a brother-in-law, Carl Wilson.
There will be no visitation for Grace P. Cassady. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
