Grace S. Wurm, 89, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of Woodland Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 5, 1923 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Jost and Anna Caskey Wehler.
On May 4, 1946 in St. Marys Church, she married the late Edward "Abie" Wurm, who preceded her in death on September 22, 1993.
Mrs. Wurm was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of St. Mary's Church.Â She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Irene, Mrs. Ned Gore of St. Marys, Jane, Mrs. Joseph Gnan Jr. of St. Marys, and Ann Fannin and her fiancĂ© Donald Hanes of St. Marys; a son, Thomas Wurm and his wife Katie of St. Marys; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Irma Schatz of St. Marys, Velma O'Dell of St. Marys, Corda Gray of Weedville, and Verna, Mrs. Bruno Pelleschi of St. Marys; and two brothers, Ivan Wehler and his wife Dorothy of St. Marys, and Luke Wehler and his wife Katy of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Wehler and Linus Wehler in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Grace S. Wurm will be celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Tuesday, April 2, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson, O.S.B., as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m.
