Harry J. Wolf
Harry J. Wolf, 84, of 401 Valley View Dr., Ridgway, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the DuBois Nursing Home.He was born Sept. 28, 1927, in St. Marys, son of the late Herman and Ruth (Miller) Wolf. He married Rose Winters on July 14, 1978, and she survives. He had resided in Ridgway since returning in 1999. He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, a 4th Degree in the K of C, and enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially baseball. He had played with the "St. Marys Colts." He loved the Steelers and looked forward to all the games. Harry was an avid turkey and deer hunter. He had attended Catholic and public schools. He had been employed by Pure Carbon and Stackpole Carbon, and joined National Fuel in 1947. He was promoted to Brockway, Ridgway, and Franklin, where he retired in 1985.Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Lynn Scalise and her husband Brad of Brentwood, Calif., Lori Wolf of Flint, Mich., and Malia Wolf of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; two stepchildren, Randy Marzella and his wife Geri of Collierville, Tenn., and Tina Aiello and her husband Ed of Ridgway; two grandchildren, Gwen Scalise of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Cory Scalise and his wife Tracey of Pittsburg, Calif.; four step-grandchildren, Francesca and Giovanni Aiello of Ridgway, Matthew Marzella and his wife Sarah of Daphne, Ala., and Alexandra Soelke and her husband Michael of Rockford, Ill.; one great-grandchild, Aeva Scalise of California; and one brother, Don Wolf and his wife Pat of St. Marys.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Wolf.A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal for Harry J. Wolf will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Daniel Wolfel, O.S.B., of Queen of the World Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will follow at St. Leo Cemetery. There will be no visitation.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Leo School. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
