Helen J. Mattivi

Helen J. Mattivi, 82, of 206 Dagus Mines Rd., Dagus Mines, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk after a brief illness.
She was born April 19, 1931 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Edward J. and Beatrice Cuneo Sheeley. On Sept. 2, 1950 in the St. Boniface Church, she married Renaldo G. Mattivi, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2008.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Kersey High School, class of 1949. She was a former employee of Pure Carbon Co., the Big G Sports & Furniture Store, and served as Fox Township tax collector for many years.
Mrs. Mattivi was a member of the St. Boniface Church, a member of the Rosary Society, an avid cook and baker, and enjoyed bingo and going to Salamanca, N.Y.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Mattivi of Dagus Mines, and Melissa Shields and her husband Chad of Dagus Mines; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Mattivi of State College; four grandchildren, Megan Mattivi, Alexa Mattivi, Madelyn Mattivi and Mackenzie Miller; and two sisters, Lucille Klotz of Elk Haven and Kathleen Luchini of Kersey.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Mattivi and Joseph Mattivi; a sister, Dorothy Stover; and a brother, James E. Sheeley.
Due to the renovation of St. Boniface Church, a Mass of Christian Burial for Helen J. Mattivi will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Thursday, March 13 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials can be made to the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main St., Kersey, Pa. 15846, the Fox Twp.
