Helen R. Goetz

Helen R. Goetz, 93, of 548 E. Kaul Ave., St. Marys, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness. She was born Dec. 8, 1920 in North Fork, daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia Novosel Skok.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools and Sacred Heart School. She was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company.
On Aug. 17, 1946, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Richard J. Goetz, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1993.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Susan Kalinoski and her husband David of Ridgway and Linda Jean O'Connell and her husband Daniel of Westfield, N.Y.; a son, Robert R. Goetz and his wife Frankie Decker of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Torrie Kalinowski Tegano, Katie O'Connell Lloyd, Kelly O'Connell and Amy Lynn O'Connell; three great-grandchildren, Dominick Lloyd, Daisy Lloyd and McKenna Logan; a brother, Frank Skok of St. Marys; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her uncle and aunt Frank and Magdaline Wolack, who raised her.
She was also preceded in death by seven sisters, Barbara Heiberger, Ann Baumer, Mary Hinkle and, in infancy, Magdalene, Mary, Katherine and Eileen Skok; and by five brothers, Joseph, John, Thomas and, in infancy, Joseph and Charles Skok.
Mrs. Geotz was a member of the Queen of the World Church. She enjoyed her family and enjoyed traveling.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen R. Goetz will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Friday, Dec. 20 at noon with the Rev. Richard Allen, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Cemetery. Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 19 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Community Nurses, Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Rd., Suite 200, St. Marys, Pa. or to a favorite charity.
