Helene Mastrogiacomo

Helene Mastrogiacomo, 80, of Cushing Avenue, Johnsonburg, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at the home of her daughter after a short illness.
She was born July 8, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Twaddle) Tracy.
She lived in Brooklyn and Long Island until 1975 when she moved to Matamoros, Pa., and spent the past five years in Johnsonburg. She was a banker whose employment included Manufacturers Hanover and Chase Manhattan.
She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Port Jervis, N.Y., where she was very active, including being part of the Helping and Healing Prayer Group. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends and enjoyed the nature and outdoors. She was an extremely devoted family matriarch.
She is survived by a daughter, Regina (Joseph) Gilmore of Johnsonburg; two grandchildren, Tracy A. and Kari L. Gilmore, both of Johnsonburg; a sister, Jean Wilson of Bartow, Fla.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her longtime loving companion, Eugene Nachtman, in 2006; two brothers, Thomas and James Tracy; and a sister, Eleanor Teleweck.
A memorial service for Helene Mastrogiacomo will be held in Port Jervis at a later date.
A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg, with Pastor David Pflieger officiating.
Visitation will take place on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
