High school bands tuning up for Sounds of Autumn competition

Photo submitted - The 2012 SMAHS Flying Dutchmen Marching Band is set to co-host the annual upcoming Sounds of Autumn Band Competition.

Talented young musicians from throughout the area will showcase their skills at the annual Sounds of Autumn Band Competition on Saturday, Sept. 22 at St. Marys Area High School's Dutch Country Stadium.
The competition, a cooperative effort between St. Marys Area and Elk County Catholic high schools, is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. following the opening ceremony at 12:45 p.m., where both bands will join together in performing the national anthem.
