The completion date for the state Route 255 project is slated for Oct. 31 according to PennDOT representatives who spoke during St. Marys City Council's Monday evening workshop.
Additionally State Street is expected to re-open on July 18 as part of the SR 120 portion of the project which was scheduled to be closed for four weeks. On Thursday crews will be paving the area.
Dean Ball, PennDOT SR 255 project designer, provided an update to council and several residents in attendance at the workshop.
"I think you guys did a great job. I love the new wide turns, the Vine Road intersection with new bricks, the widening of State Street," said Councilwoman Sally Geyer.
Once completed the southbound lane reconstruction will end close to the CMF and at the end of the center island for the northbound lane.
