Hollaus R. "Hollie" Smith

Hollaus R. "Hollie" Smith, 79, of Willow Street, Johnsonburg, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1932 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Hollaus W. and Jennie (Wheeler) Smith.
He married Jane L. (Steudler) on Jan. 7, 1952 in Johnsonburg; she survives.
He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and retired in 1991 as a supervisor with the Johnsonburg Paper Mill, where he had worked for 40 years. He was a member of Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, Wilcox Sportsmen's Club, Central Hose Company Social Club and the Kane Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf. He lived all his life in Johnsonburg.
She is survived by his wife, four children, Holly J. (Mike) Carnovale of St. Marys, William R. (Jody) Smith of Johnsonburg, Richard L. Smith of Johnsonburg, and Larry E. Smith of St. Marys; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted (Mary Ellen) Smith of New Hampshire; one sister, Audrey Kramer of Virginia; and one sister-in-law, Marie Smith of Erie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marguerite Smith; two brothers, Keith and Jack Smith; and one brother-in-law, Carl Kramer.
A Memorial Service for Hollaus R. "Hollie" Smith will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church in Johnsonburg, with Pastor Jay Tennies officiating. Burial is at Wardvale Methodist Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church.
