Hospice fundraiser to have used books, bake sale, and free screenings

May 19, 2013

In addition to used books, this year's four-day sale will also feature a bake sale and free heart health screenings.

In 2006, the Community Nurses held a one-day used book sale offering several hundred books available for purchase for a small fee, and the event was held in the small library adjacent to the cafeteria at Sacred Heart Activity Center to raise money for their hospice program. Since that time, the sale has continued to grow and now typically has over 10,000 used books available for purchase at the St. Marys Catholic Middle School cafeteria over a four-day period. This year, the sale will be held from June 6-9 and will also feature the addition of a bake sale as well as free heart health screenings on select days.
