Hotel project proceeds, oil and gas ordinance to be reviewed

A downtown St. Marys hotel project is one step closer to becoming a reality as a Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance Act program (LERTA) application was unanimously approved by City Council for Creekside Hospitality, LLC for the construction of a 65-room national flag hotel on Depot Street. Solicitor Tom Wagner indicated council will need to take a look at its oil and gas zoning ordinance regulations due to recent changes in Act 13 better known as the Marcellus Shale Act.In mid-December the Pa. Supreme Court declared portions of the Act unconstitutional in regard to local regulations of oil and gas operations.
