Hugh J. Lanzel

Hugh J. Lanzel, 86, of 551 School St., St. Marys, died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
He was born March 9, 1926 in St. Marys, son of the late Ralph and Mary Schatz Lanzel. On Oct. 27, 1950 in Maryland, he married Rose Garnic, who survives.
Mr. Lanzel was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He retired in 1986 from the Stackpole Carbon Company. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Church.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three sons, John (Candy) Lanzel of St. Marys, Mark (Cindy) Lanzel of St. Marys, and Paul (Barb) Lanzel of St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Hannah, Hayley, Bradley, Brandon, Brett, Bryce, Jason and Ian Lanzel; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Landon Lanzel; a sister, Dorothy Lanzel of St. Marys; and a brother, Ralph Lanzel of St. Marys.
Funeral and committal services for Hugh J. Lanzel, will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
