Ice skating under way at Kaulmont Park, weather permitting

January 30, 2012

Photo by Becky Polaski - The ice skating rink at Kaulmont Park is once again open for skating, weather permitting.

Despite the mercurial winter this year, the ice skating rink at Kaulmont Park is operational, though only as the weather permits, according to Winter Park Director Kurt Nesbitt.
"We are up and running now at the skate pond, but with the freezing and melting it is a day-to-day basis," Nesbitt said. "If the rain stays away and the nights continue to get cold we will have the park open on a steady schedule, so let's hope the rain stays away."
Nesbitt explained that there are a few factors that are taken into consideration regarding when the rink opens each year.
