Ila G. Kraus

Ila G. Kraus, 83, of 733 Theresia St., St. Marys, died on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 14, 1930 in Benezette, a daughter of the late David and Mildred English Swackhammer.
On June 23, 1956 in St. Marys' Church, she married the late A. Raymond Kraus, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Kraus was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She attended Benezette schools and graduated from Weedville High School. She retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her
family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters Theresa "Terry", Mrs. James "Tim" Coppock of St. Marys, Laurie, Mrs. Joseph Mahovlich of St. Marys and Renee, Mrs Brian Wilson of Kersey; one son, Robert Kraus and his companion Joe Sexton of Penfield; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arley Swackhammer, of Benezette and Dora, Mrs. John DeCarli of Weedville; two brothers, Russell Swackhammer and his wife Helen of Weedville, and Joel Swackahmmer and his wife Kun of Carlisle along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Tommy Wilson; four brothers, Donald, Merlin, Leon and DeMont Swackhammer; and three siblings in infancy.
Funeral Services for Ila G. Kraus will be held at the Faith Baptist Church, 288 West Creek Road, St. Marys, on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Brad Brunner, officiating. 
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m.
