Ina F. "Babe" Stonik

Ina F. "Babe" Stonik, 91, of Christ the King Manor in DuBois and formerly of Medix Run, died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at Christ the King Manor.
She was born Jan. 24, 1921 in Medix Run, daughter of the late Gustave and Elva (Higgins) Snyder. She married Bernard John Stonik on March 15, 1941. He died on Nov. 4, 2004.
Ina lived most of her life in Medix Run, Nelson's Golden Years and Christ the King Manor. She was a homemaker, loving mother, artist and early environmentalist. She enjoyed reading, was a great cat lover and was a lifetime member of the Society of Henry Wolcott.
Ina is survived by one son, John (Melbie) Stonik of Gaithersburg, Md. and one daughter, Tania (Jim) Cody of Gasden, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rhea Lovell of Eastlake, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Irma Gettling and Naomi Woodring.
A private funeral service for Ina F. "Babe" Stonik will be held at the family's convenience. Interment will be at the Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.
There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorials to the Christ the King Manor.
