This is how presiding Senior Trial Court Judge John Cleland of Kane labels the child sexual abuse case against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.
Cleland, speaking Tuesday before sentencing at a packed Centre County courtroom in Bellefonte, told the defendant "you abused trust in those who trusted you." He said Sandusky "expertly deceived" his victims-- 10 young boys who were molested by the defendant over a 15-year period.
A jury in June convicted Sandusky of 45 counts of child sexual abuse in a scandal that rocked Penn State and led to the firing of the late legendary football coach Joe Paterno.
