James L. "Wilbur" Fritz Jr.

James L. "Wilbur" Fritz Jr., 71, of 276 South Michael Circle, St. Marys, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born May 18, 1939 in St. Marys, son of the late James L. and Ruth Ryden Fritz Sr.
On Nov. 4, 1967, in the St. Mary's Church, he married Linda Francis, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1957. He was the retired owner and operator of Fritz Trucking. He was a member of the Queen of the World Church, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Campowners, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the woods, riding his four-wheeler, and spending time at his camp. He loved his family, his grandchildren and his dog Lindy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jayne Schatz and her husband Lee of St. Marys; a son, Jude Fritz and his wife Kim of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Joseph Schatz, Jeffrey Schatz, Jared Herbstritt and Jacob Fritz; a sister, Nancy Shaw of Bradford; and a brother, Chuck Fritz of St. Marys.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Fritz, in infancy.
Due to renovations at the Queen of the World Church, a Mass of Christian Burial for James L. "Wilbur" Fritz Jr. will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity.
