Jane E. Pollick

Jane E. Pollick, 86, of 1226 E. Eschbach Rd., St. Marys, died peacefully on Wednesday evening, Oct. 20, 2010 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a short illness.
She was born April 24, 1924 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Bertha Prechtl Samick. On Aug. 24, 1946 in Bradford, she married the late Joseph A. Pollick Jr., who preceded her in death on March 25, 1993.
Mrs. Pollick was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Central Catholic High School. She was a member of Queen of the World Church, the Rosary Altar Society and the C. D. of A. She retired from the Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service. She enjoyed playing cards and liked being part of a card club. She also enjoyed maintaining her home and yard.
She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Newell, Eleanor, Mrs. Ronald Newell, and Carol, Mrs. Alfred "Butch" Sporner, all of St. Marys; a brother, George Samick and his wife Sandra, of St. Marys; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and by her longtime friend and neighbor, Dottie Andrus of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 47 years, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Maurus, Howard, William, Raymond and Gerald Samick; two sisters, Alice Nasoni and Lillian Hillebrand; and by two sisters in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jane E. Pollick will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Saturday, Oct. 23, at noon with the Rev. Daniel Wolfel, OSB, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Saturday morning from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
