Janis M. Sample

Janis M. Sample, 53, of 148 School St., Kane, and formerly of Wilcox, died on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at Kane Community Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on August 19, 1958 in Ridgway, daughter of Thomas J. and Dorothy Dush Redmond.
She married Jeffrey A. Sample on May 14, 1982. He survives.
She resided in Kane for the last 22 years. She graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School, Class of 1976 and from Median Technical School of Pittsburgh as an Animal Health Tech. She was employed by Kinzua Veterinary Clinic in Warren for 10 years.
She especially loved animals and caring for them. She also loved camping and traveling to Quebec, Canada to go fishing.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Dush Redmond of Wilcox; a brother, Joseph M. Redmond of Wilcox; and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Thomas J. Redmond, in 2002.
A funeral service for Janis M. Sample will be conducted at the Wilcox Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Cantaral, pastor. Interment will be at the Wilcox Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
