Jean “Minnie” (Bricen) Lander

Jean “Minnie” (Bricen) Lander, 84, of the Elk Haven Nursing Home, St.Marys, died on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center after a brief illness.
She was born on June 28, 1926 in Weedville, daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Gardner) Bricen.
She lived all of her life in Elk County. She worked as a nurse's aide for Ridgway and St. Marys hospitals and Helpmates. She worked as a bar manager or waitress at Ridgway Country Club, Peacock Lounge of St. Marys and Aiello's Café of Ridgway.
She is survived by three children, Dennis and his wife Pauline Bauer of St. Marys, Donald and his wife Susan Bauer of Penfield, and Mrs. Donald (Darlene) Howard of Ridgway; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis and his wife Velma of Weedville and Daniel and his wife Phyllis of St. Marys; and a sister, Mrs. Michael (Vernice) Paolello of Philadelphia.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilfred Bauer; her second husband, Alfred Lander; a sister, June Snyder; and two brothers, Thomas and Jack Bricen.
Funeral services for Jean Lander will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, with Pastor Kenneth Sherwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardner Hill Cemetery, Weedville.
Friends will be welcomed to the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
