Jennie Marie Rigard Afton

Jennie Marie Rigard Afton, 96, a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville and a former resident of 232 Charles St., St. Marys, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, 2011 at the Jefferson Manor.
She was born April 13, 1914, in Force, daughter of the late Anthony and Eda Bellini Petrucelli.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Bennetts Valley Schools. She was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, retiring on Oct. 4, 1980 after 26 years of service. She was a member of the Bells of St. Marys, the Quarter Century Club at Stackpole and enjoyed working at gardening.
On July 6, 1940, she married Gilbert George Rigard, and after his death she married Ambrose Afton on Aug. 2, 1952.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Christina Shires Wilt of Brookville and James A. Rigard of Brockway; two great-grandchildren, Kassandra Shires and Alyssa Rigard; two sisters, Emma Vogt of St. Marys and Sara Mariacker of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Sam Petrucelli of Gore, Va.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, John A. Rigard, on April 24, 2003; a sister, Rose Petrucelli; and two brothers, Joseph and Julio "Jill" Petrucelli.
Funeral and committal services for Jennie Marie Rigard Afton will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no visitation.
The Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
