Jerome Joseph Rigard

Jerome Joseph Rigard, 87, of Rustburg, Va., died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012.
He was born May 11, 1925 in St. Marys, son of the late Michael and Thersia Gschwendtner Rigard.
For 36 years, he was the husband of Thursie S. Rigard, and the former husband of the late Amelia Cortinouis Rigard.
He served in World War II as a Gunner in the U.S. Air Force. He was with the 417th Bomb Gr. 675 Bomb Squadron with the 5th Air Force, serving in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the Air Force Gunners Assoc., the American Legion, the V.F.W., and St. Boniface Church in Kersey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Kenneth Rigard, Gary Rigard, Carl Paulson, Shirley Baker, and Karen Larsen; a brother, Leo Rigard; a sister, Geneive Weichman; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family of Jerome Joseph Rigard will have a memorial service at a later date.
