Joan L. Kolash, 76, of Deer Lane, DuBois, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at her residence.
Born on July 5, 1935 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Muriel (Lawhead) Nelson.
On September 18, 1954, she married Joseph N. Kolash Jr. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2010.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, cooking, gambling, and painting crafts.
She is survived by her children, Joseph D. Kolash of Lancaster, Richard M. Kolash and his wife Sheri of DuBois, Andrew J. Kolash of DuBois, twin daughters, Susan (Jeffrey) Hetrick of Weedville and Sheri (Keith) Smith Jr. of Luthersburg, and Dianne (Joseph) LaBenne of DuBois; two sisters, Joyce Kaizer and her husband Bill of DuBois, and Dorothy Fairman and her husband Bob of DuBois; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Donna Quarando.
Visitation for Joan L. Kolash will be held on Sunday, August 28 from 2-6 p.m. at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc. A scriptural wake service will be conducted on Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 29 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
