JoAnn Alexander, 70, of Elco Glen, St. Marys, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at DRMC West after a short illness.
She was born July 1, 1942 in DuBois, daughter of the late John and Mary (Grazulis) Burkis.
A homemaker, she was a graduate of DuBois High School. She lived 53 years in DuBois, 16 years in Wellsboro, and the past year in St. Marys. She loved her dogs and grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Andy (Lisa) Alexander of Weedville and Chris Reilly of Williamsport; four grandchildren; a brother, Vince (Joan) Burkis of Rochester, N.Y.; and a sister, Rita Cage of San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Gregory; and a brother, Clarence Burkis.
Funeral services for JoAnn Alexander will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield with Father Thomas Tyler officiating.
Visitation will be held at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield on Tuesday, July 2 from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 3 from 10-11 a.m.
