JoAnn S. Gnan

JoAnn S. Gnan, 71, of 518 Hickory St., Ridgway, died early Sunday morning, June 1, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 24, 1943 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Emil F. and Nellie R. (Briggs) Streich.
She married Benjamin C. Gnan Jr. on Feb. 19, 1982, he survives.
She had resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of the American Legion Post #208. She was a 1961 graduate of Ridgway High School. She was a longtime employee of Alpha Sintered Metals, retiring in 2008.
Surviving in addition to her husband is one son, Ben S. Gnan of Ridgway; two brothers, Emil Streich and his wife Charlotte of Ridgway, and Robert Streich and his wife Ruth of Ridgway; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Wilson.
A Celebration of the Life of JoAnn S. Gnan will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 4 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Community Nurses, Inc. at 757 Johnsonburg Rd., Suite 200, St. Marys, Pa. 15857.
