John J. Caskey

John J. Caskey, 69, of 23 GarïŹeld St., Byrnedale, died on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 20, 1942 in St. Marys, a son of the late Joseph G. and Alice Wickett Caskey.
On September 25, 1966 in Queen of the World Church, he married Ruth Ann Young Caskey, who survives.
Caskey was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from SMAHS. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Keystone Carbon Company after many years of service. He was a member of the Bennetts Valley Legion and the PFL. He enjoyed hunting and ïŹshing. 
In addition to his wife, Ruth Ann Young Caskey, he is survived by: four sons, Mark Caskey of Byrnedale, Dennis Caskey of Byrnedale, Alan Caskey of Johnsonburg, and Joseph Caskey and his wife Jeannie of Force; four grandchildren; three sisters: Carol Hnath, Sandy, Mrs. Larry Reagle and Susan Zimmerman, all of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Gerber.
Relatives and friends of John J. Caskey are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at noon, with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, as celebrant. Military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Burial Detail. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
