JOHNSONBURG – Born and raised in Johnsonburg, Bob Ford is now a published author. His work, titled "Beagle Tales," is a collection of his humor columns about beagles, life and the outdoors.
Ford is a 1990 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School. He is the son of the late Harold and Paula Ford. His sister is Diane Del Rio of Johnsonburg. Ford has traveled from his town of State College for a book signing at the Johnsonburg Community Center Saturday, Oct. 15 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Ford began writing for "Better Beagler Magazine," "Hounds and Hunting" and the "American Beagler." The book is a collection of columns which were published in the "Better Beagler" magazine. He has been writing humor columns since 2001. Ford came across book writing by chance. One snowy day, Ford decided to inquire with a few publishing companies to discover if any were interested in his stories. One company, Sunbury Press from Camp Hill, Pa. replied.
“I was stuck at home so I wrote a few inquiry letters to publishers,” Ford said. “Sunbury Press wrote back and said they were interested.”
"Beagle Tales" is centered on the outdoors, raising beagles and keeping them indoors.
