Joseph Castellani

Joseph Castellani, 94, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 25, 1919 in Weedville, son of the late Luigi and Rosa (Aloisi) Castellani.
He married Anna (Veges)) on May 8, 1954 and lived all his life in Bennett’s Valley
Joseph was a carpenter in Bennett’s Valley for many years. He served as staff sergeant with the Army Air Corps during WWII.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force and the Bennett’s Valley Lions Club. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed time with his family and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was survived by three children, Louise Titchner of St. Marys, Joseph (Vicky) Castellani Jr. of Pittsfield, Mass. and John (Michele) Castellani of Caledonia; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Andrew and Charles Castellani; two sisters, Catherine Baca and Frances Mishic; and one son-in-law, Ron Titchner.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Castellani will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force with Father Thomas Tyler, celebrant. Military honors will be accorded by the Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the St. Joseph Church, Community Nurses, Inc. Hospice, or the Pinecrest Manor.
