Joseph D. Muhitch

Joseph D. Muhitch, 73, of 117 Lombardo Street, St. Marys, died on Friday, August 9, 2013 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born January 27, 1940 in Emporium, a son of the late Frederick Muhitch and Grace Posteraro Muhitch.
On November 19, 1960 in St. Marys Church, he married Phyllis Arnold Muhitch, who survives.
Joe was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Central High School, class of 1957. He retired from GE Thermometrics after many years of service. He was a member of the K of C, Elks, CMF and the Lions Club.
In addition his wife of more than 52 years, Phyllis Arnold Muhitch, he is survived by: two sons, Joseph Muhitch and his wife Lorri, Trafford, and Gregory Muhitch and his wife Carol, St. Marys; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Trey Muhitch; three step-grandchildren, Andrew (Corrinne) Yost, Nathan Yost and Deanna Yost; two step-great-grandchildren, Giada and Angela Yost; his stepmother, Elizabeth Muhitch, DuBois; one brother, Frederick Muhitch; one half brother, Ron Muhitch; and two half sisters, Pam Dunmire and Linda Scheuermann.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Muhitch.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph D. Muhitch will be Celebrated at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Street, St. Marys, on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Thomas More, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m.
