It had been a very rewarding Monday morning for Adam Smelko of Kane.
The Kane High School teacher finished the 26.2-mile Boston Marathon with a time of 2:58.18, placing him in the top 2,000 out of 27,000 runners.
Unfortunately, Smelko didn't have much time to savor his biggest thrill as a marathon runner.
