Kathryn M. "Katie" Zoschg, 94, of 3033 Cameron Rd., Emporium, died on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Guy and Mary Felt Manor in Emporium
She was born Nov. 25, 1915 in Rathbun, a daughter of the late George F. and Rose Balaban Mahovlich.
On July 14, 1941 in Winchester, Va., she married Matthew A. Zoschg Sr., who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2003.
Mrs. Zoschg was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time around her home, most especially gardening. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Carol, Mrs. Edward Uzdale of Emporium, Margaret Burnside of Emporium, Mary, Mrs. Philip Burkhouse of Emporium, Sandra, Mrs. Donald Bickford of Emporium, and Kathryn, Mrs. Mark Johnson of Driftwood; three sons, Matthew Zoschg Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Emporium, Stephen Zoschg and his wife, Laura, of Emporium, and James Zoschg and his wife, Susan, of Emporium; 31 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Shoup of St. Marys and Helen Goodman of Freeport; and two brothers, Frank Mahovlich and his wife, Rose Ann, of St. Marys, and Joseph R. Mahovlich and his wife, Margaret, of Rathbun.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Theresa Marie Zoschg; brothers George, Ivan and Steven Mahovlich; sisters Barb Reed and Anna Paropacic; and several siblings in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathryn M. "Katie" Zoschg will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth St., Emporium, today at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul S. Siebert as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Gilmore Cemetery in Austin.
The Zoschg family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home today from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
