Kenneth E. Burgeson

Kenneth E. Burgeson, 77, of 1890 Bucktail Rd., St. Marys, died on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 13, 1935 in Ridgway, a son of the late Winifred Schrift Burgeson. On Oct. 6, 1956 in Sacred Heart Church, he married Ilene Leviski Burgeson, who survives.
Mr. Burgeson was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He graduated from Ridgway High School, class of 1953. He worked for many years at Stackpole and then at Carbone, retiring in 1997. He was an avid Penn State fan who enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and trap and skeet. He also enjoyed archery and playing with his dogs. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of more than 56 years, Ilene Leviski Burgeson, he is survived by two sons, Michael Burgeson and his wife Mary of Moon Twp. and Scott Burgeson of St. Marys; two daughters, Teri Burgeson of St. Marys and Darla Challingsworth of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Burgeson and his wife Naomi of St. Marys and Ronald Burgeson of Kersey; and a sister, Mary Carnes of Emporium.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Burgeson.
Relatives and friends of Kenneth E. Burgeson are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center St., St. Marys, on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Assoc. of NW PA, 110 W. Tenth St., Suite 212, Erie, PA 16501.
There will be no visitation.
