L. Harrison "Harry" Schneider

L. Harrison "Harry" Schneider, 84, of 1221 E. Eschbach Rd., St. Marys, died on Thursday evening, Oct. 11, 2012 at Dubois Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 17, 1928 in St. Marys, a son of the late Louis J. and Christina M. Mertz Schneider.
On April 23, 1949 in St. Marys Church, he married Grace Entres Schneider, who survives.
Mr. Schneider was a member of Queen of the World Church. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1947. He retired from GKN after many years of service. He had been a member of the American Legion, the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail and was a life member of the Crystal Fire Department. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife of more than 63 years, Grace Entres Schneider, he is survived by three sons, Gale Schneider and his wife Carol of St. Marys, Leonard Schneider and his wife Kaye of Weedville, and Alan Schneider and his wife Ginny of St. Marys; five grandchildren, John Schneider and his wife Christine of Byrnedale, Cory Schneider of St. Marys, Joe Schneider of California, Jenny Schneider of New Brighton, and Tanya Schneider and her fiance Chad Fisher of St. Marys; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen Brennen of St. Marys; a brother, Mark Schneider and his wife Myrna of Gilroy, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Piccolo.
A Mass of Christian Burial for L. Harrison "Harry" Schneider will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Monday, Oct.15, 2012 at noon, with Fr. Daniel Wolfel, OSB, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
A military service will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Monday morning from 10-11:30 a.m.
