Ridgway would still put together some offense in the fifth inning to close the margin. Taylor Roseto walked to lead off the inning and after a strikeout, Melissa Wehler and Jenni Thomas both singled. Bri Stenta then hit a single which got through the St. Marys infield and scored both Roseto and Wehler.
The Lady Dutch had 16 hits, Ginther and Krivonyak each had three. Sorg, Quagliani and Keener had a pair of hits each. Krivonyak and Bankovich each led the Lady Dutch with three runs scored and Krivonyak led the way with four RBI. Eight St. Marys players had one RBI or more during the game.
"Ridgway, they're coming along. They started putting the bat on the ball," St. Marys coach Manny Gerarge said. "We had a good-hitting game. The girls, they're pretty disciplined at the plate. We were a little sloppy on defense and we'll work on that heading into next week. We got some big games next week. We're just trying to get ready to go into the district playoffs and just continuing to work."
Wehler had two hits to lead the way for the Lady Elkers.
"They're probably one of the top teams in the district," Ridgway coach Gary Gerber II said. "I thought they hit the ball better off of her, last time we didn't score anything. As far as hitting-wise, we hit better. Jenni had a hit, Wehler had two hits. We knew going in it was going to be a tough game. They didn't give up, they kept battling. We get ready for five games in four days next week."
Ridgway is scheduled to travel and face Brockway at 4:15 p.m. Monday while St. Marys travels to Williamsport.
