Lady Dutch tennis team downs Clearfield 8-1

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch tennis team raised their record to 5-1 on the season with an 8-1 victory over the Clearfield Lady Bisons Monday afternoon at the SMAHS courts.
At first singles, Amy Orr of the Lady Dutch easily defeated Yesh Patel 6-0, 6-0.
At second singles, SMA’s Mary Rosman won her match 6-0, 6-0 over Lauren Whitmen.
Marta Vega of the Lady Dutch won her third singles match 6-0, 6-0 over Rachael Johnson.
At fourth singles, Aubrey Wiesner of the Lady Dutch won her match 6-0, 6-0 over Jen Grenus.
At fifth singles, SMA’s Chelsea Agosti won her match 6-0, 6-0.
“The girls played a young Clearfield team today. We played very good tennis and gave up no games in any of the singles matches,” said St. Marys coach Sue Lepovetsky.
At first doubles, Amy Orr and Mary Rosman of the Lady Dutch won their match 8-0 over Yesh Patel and Jen Grenus.
“At second doubles we gave a chance to our younger players to play a match and they lost 4-8,” said Lepovetsky.
Rachel Ehrensberger and Megan McCoy lost to Lauren Whitmen and Rachael Johnson at second doubles.
At third doubles, Marta Vega and Danielle McCoy of the Lady Dutch won their match easily 8-0 over Rayanna Kavelak and Emily Ramsey.
St. Marys received the win at fourth doubles by forfeit as Clearfield only had seven girls.
The Lady Dutch are in action this afternoon as they travel to Bradford for a 3:30 p.m. match against the Lady Owls.
