Lawrence A. Lyons

Lawrence A. Lyons, 74, of 601 Hall Ave., St. Marys, died unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, May 4, 2012.
He was born April 22, 1938 in St. Marys, son of the late Charles and Bertha Eckert Lyons.
On Aug. 1, 1959, he married Janet J. Murvine Crotzer. She preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 2005.
Mr. Lyons was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was a retired employee of the Keystone Carbon Co., retiring after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church; a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1955-1957; was a member of the Elks and the Moose; was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Gonzaga University basketball fan; enjoyed going out to eat with his friends; and especially enjoyed his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Debra Horn and her husband Edwin Flores Castro of St. Marys; two sons, Michael E. Lyons and his wife Stephanie of Spokane, Wash., and Patrick A. Lyons and his wife Jessenia Colon Martinez of Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Weishaar and her husband Gary of New Braunfels, Texas, and Beverly Adolizzi and her husband Ray of Lancaster; and by a brother, Thomas (Doc) Lyons and his wife Donna of St. Marys.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers at birth, his twin Charles Lyons and his brother Michael Lyons.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence A. Lyons will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, pastor, officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
