Leo Joseph Herzing

Leo Joseph Herzing, 74, of Port Allegany, died at his home on Saturday. Oct. 30, 2010.
He was born Aug. 14, 1936 in St. Marys, son of the late George and Margaret (Hirschberger) Herzing.
He married Jean Ardelle Shafer on Sept. 20, 1960, in St. Marys, and she survives. 
He served in the United States Army from August 1957 to August 1961. He worked at Stackpole in St. Marys until he retired in 2006. He was an avid member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Coudersport and he dedicated his life to giving and always helping others in need. 
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, George Herzing of Austin and Gary of Seagoville, Tex.; three daughters, Julie Neefe of Newville, Joeleen Stanard of Greenwood Village, IL and Bonnie Riffel of Ash Grove, MO; two brothers, Thomas and William Herzing, and one sister, Rose Belsole, all of St. Marys; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Memorial services for Leo Joseph Herzing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Coudersport.
