Library accepting Food for Fines

April 11, 2014

The annual Food for Fines program at the St. Marys Public Library will take place from Monday, April 14 through Saturday, April 19 in conjunction with National Library Week. A staple at the library over the past few years, the program allows patrons to bring in nonperishable food items for the Christian Food Bank and receive up to $1 off of their existing or new fines on overdue books or movies or have the fines completely eliminated if the book or movie is over two months overdue.
St. Marys Public Library Director Leslie Swope remarked that the program was one that she wanted to continue after taking over as director.
