Life and Independence for Today (LIFT) is reaching out to area businesses and individuals to join them in raising funds to purchase portable ramps as part of their Ramp Drive.
"Through this drive, it is our intent to purchase 10-15 portable ramps to meet the temporary needs of people with disabilities, with the cost of the ramps ranging from $300-$700," explained Hope Weichman, LIFT deputy director.
The non-profit organization is a Center for Independent Living (CIL) and was developed by people with disabilities for people with disabilities. Their services are free and extend to all people with disabilities regardless of age and residing in the six county region of Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean and Potter counties.
